Through innovative qualitative and quantitative primary research, secondary research, consultancy and our portfolio management MEDE reports, TSR Insight and is in a unique position to support clients in the world of youth marketing and education.

What does the Market Research Manager at TSR Insight do?

Reporting to our Senior Market Research Consultant, the Market Research Manager is an exciting and responsible position in our growing team at TSR Insight.

You will have responsibility for external client management for your projects, including; initial contact and liaison, proposal creation, pitching, project design and management and conducting analysis and reporting. Including client presentations.

This will primarily be for quantitative research, data analysis and our portfolio management MEDE Reports. However, all members of our team input into the full range of what we do, including consultancy and qualitative research.

A key focus of this role is understanding the objectives of the client and delivering results which are on brief, on time and on budget, and able to be quickly translated into actions.

TSR Insight also have an internal client side role for The Student Room Group. This means that we undertake a range of data analysis, primary and secondary market research to inform business strategy, sales collateral and PR.

Key role responsibilities

  • Work with clients to expand upon briefs and design and deliver effective, engaging proposals to meet clients’ research objectives.
  • The design and delivery of quantitative primary research, from design, through fieldwork to analysis and reporting.
  • Projects may be multi-methodology, which may also include consultancy and qualitative analysis, with fieldwork undertaken by our specialists.
  • Deliver our MEDE Reports, which focus on higher education portfolio management incorporating desk research, data analysis and primary research.
  • Manage internal and external specialist teams for the duration of projects, including external sub-contractors where required.
  • Ensure that those invited to take part in primary market research, are treated in a way that values their time and input and adheres to the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and GDPR.
  • Ensure that the right people are invited and incentivised to take part in the right projects, in the right way and at the right time.
  • Analyse data and create reports of findings and insights that confidently supports and guides our clients’ decision making.

This opportunity will suit someone who has:

  • Confidence and experience alongside a  proven track record working in a market research project management role.
  • Excellent data analysis and report writing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident presenting research and insight to a range of audiences.
  • Confident and experienced designing and running research using online primary research tools and manipulating data, such as SNAP or Survey Monkey.
  • Confident user of packages like SPSS or Tableu, and Excel, with strong data and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with and producing insightful analysis of complex datasets.
  • The ability to synthesise findings to key insights and present confidently to clients.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of a range of research methods, meaning that the most effective and high quality approach can be delivered to clients.
  • Experience of the higher education market – this is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Ideally knowledge and experience of HESA and UCAS data analysis.
  • Experience in market research design, fieldwork, analysis and reporting either in a client or agency-side role.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys being part of a team and building strong relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • A desire to be creative and work within clear guidelines such as the MRS Code of Conduct and GDPR.
  • The ability to think commercially and deliver the very best work for our clients.
